HR Business Partner

50-55k + Annual Performance Bonus, PMI, 25 Hols, Flexible Benefits Package

Innovative and resourceful HR Business Partner required to be based in Dorset to work for a corporate financial services business. Covering maternity leave for an anticipated one year contract, this role will involve some travel to other sites UK based. 

Supported by 3 staff, this is a demanding role working with a client base of c.1000 employees.  It is imperative that the successful candidate can straddle both operational delivery and strategic input to business partner the Managing Director and Operations Director of the business unit.

Key Responsibilities:
You will need to :

  • be fully integrated with client department leadership teams in order to question, influence and contribute to all people related issues.
  • work in partnership with client managers and client management teams to determine HR priorities associated with each unit's strategy and agree on how these are most effectively delivered. With appropriate support from the HR Business Partner.
  • be an active and influential member of the business unit supporting the development of business focused people plans with integrated interventions and solutions that deliver against the key business priorities and which drive a high performance culture In conjunction with the L&D Partners.
  • challenge and coach business leaders on how to engage employees and address resulting people issues and build people capabilities effectively.
  • catalyse and drive raising the performance bar and build a strong and rigorous development culture.
  • advise managers and be actively involved in the initiation, design and implementation of change processes so as to ensure the associated changes at a cultural and behavioural level are achieved.
  • coach and train managers and staff in a wide range of HR practices in order to increase managerial capability, individual responsibility and organisational performance.
  • take an active role in sharing unit initiatives and good practice across the wider HR team
  • provide proactive support in HR areas such as talent management, performance management, employee engagement
  • lead the HR side of business change programmes
  • be authoritative on all HR policies and procedures in order to give expert and well-reasoned advice to client departments managers and staff (eg maternity, staff schemes and benefits, job changes, promotions, performance review)
  • ensure a timely and cost effective recruitment service in support of identified manpower requirements which address both short term needs and longer term strategic business goals, from agreeing the recruitment programme, determining the selection vehicles (types of interviews, which psychometric tests etc) through establishing the terms and conditions to supporting the induction and effective integration into the business.
  • undertake interviews - behavioural and traditional - and support wash-ups and decision making.
  • ensure that local management teams are appropriately consulted on policies in development and to provide feedback to Group HR.
  • work with managers to ensure the effective implementation of Group policies and company schemes, such that they are introduced in a positive and timely way.
  • support the HR Business Partner in maintaining and monitoring the Group Standard for People risk within the business area, identifying potential breaches in standards and initiating action to address these.
