:This client is growing both organically in its sector and through acquisition leading it to require a greater understanding of the people trends within the business. Therefore, they are looking to appoint to a newly created position of HR Data Analyst to support the wider HR function. 

Reporting directly to the HR Director, this role will be responsible for more than just data extraction/migration and pivot table Excel spreadsheets. Instead, it must provide insight into the people data analysis, make recommendations on the KPIs and statistics to report on, craft a monthly cadence of MI appropriate for board-level publishing, and satisfy the “now what?” activity. 

The essence of the role will be the collection, compilation, and analysis of people, recruitment, and L&D data, metrics, and statistics, managing robust regular management information, and delivering it to the Senior Leadership Team.

HR Data Analyst Responsibilities

  • Data Collection & Compilation: Gather HR and L&D metrics from various sources like HRIS, payroll, surveys, exit interviews, employment records, and external statistics.
  • Data Analysis & Reporting: Produce regular management information reports focusing on recruitment, hiring practices, motivation, turnover, training statistics, employee survey data, and compliance with employment laws.
  • Presentation: Prepare and present data findings to senior leadership and the HR team.
  • Goal Setting: Identify and recommend short- and long-term goals, milestones, and benchmarks for key performance metrics to support the people strategies.
  • Policy Recommendations: Suggest policies and activities to improve organizational culture, attract and hire qualified candidates, motivate and retain employees, address staffing issues, and ensure legal compliance.
  • HRIS Management: Actively manage data accuracy within HRIS, create dashboards, and automate reporting for evidence-based decision-making.
  • Compliance: Conduct classification audits and support document management to ensure compliance with ISO standards and data privacy regulations.
  • Support HR Leadership: Assist with staffing, recruiting, departmental budgets, and the progression of operating policies and systems.

To be successful, the incumbent will have a strong HR generalist background, understanding how behaviours and people trends impact the business objectives. Proficient in systems and data management, you will be comfortable digesting and presenting trend reports to senior leaders and influencing outcomes as a consequence.
