Job Role: HR Administrator – Operations & Reward
Location: Central Southampton (3 days a week)
Salary: Up to £28,000 + Bonus + Up to 10% Pension
I am working for a professional services business that is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented HR Administrator to join their high-performing team. Your client group is highly intellectual and appreciates a high standard of work, communication, and service. This role involves delivering operational support across the employee lifecycle, requiring excellent professional literacy and a good level of Excel proficiency to support Compensation & Reward activities.
Key Responsibilities:
Employee Lifecycle Management:
- Administer starter/leaver processes, including issuing contracts and leaver letters.
- Conduct pre-employment screening and follow up on responses.
- Maintain and update employee records and the HR system.
- Produce contract change letters and support flexible working requests.
- Draft the bi-monthly internal newsletter.
- Organise staff events, including the Christmas party.
Reward and Management Information:
- Run weekly reconciliation reports to ensure data accuracy.
- Produce management information reports (e.g., headcount, absence).
- Administer wellbeing benefits and support engagement initiatives.
- Assist with monthly payroll and salary review processes.
HR Support:
- Upload vacancies and schedule interviews.
- Support graduate recruitment programmes and careers fairs.
- Manage the HR mailbox and escalate complex queries.
- Update HR timelines, checklists, and calendars.
- Process invoices and track probation reviews.
- Provide cover for team members and assist in formal meetings.
Ideal Candidate:
- Demonstrable experience in an administrative role with a focus on data management and Excel skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and a conscientious approach.
- Strong MS Office skills.
- Ability to manage competing demands and work to tight deadlines.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle confidential information appropriately.
- Experience in an HR department and using an HR database is desirable.
- CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential.
