Job Role: HR Administrator – Operations & Reward
Location: Central Southampton (3 days a week)
Salary: Up to £28,000 + Bonus + Up to 10% Pension

I am working for a professional services business that is seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented HR Administrator to join their high-performing team. Your client group is highly intellectual and appreciates a high standard of work, communication, and service. This role involves delivering operational support across the employee lifecycle, requiring excellent professional literacy and a good level of Excel proficiency to support Compensation & Reward activities.

Key Responsibilities:
Employee Lifecycle Management:

  • Administer starter/leaver processes, including issuing contracts and leaver letters.
  • Conduct pre-employment screening and follow up on responses.
  • Maintain and update employee records and the HR system.
  • Produce contract change letters and support flexible working requests.
  • Draft the bi-monthly internal newsletter.
  • Organise staff events, including the Christmas party.

Reward and Management Information:

  • Run weekly reconciliation reports to ensure data accuracy.
  • Produce management information reports (e.g., headcount, absence).
  • Administer wellbeing benefits and support engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with monthly payroll and salary review processes.

HR Support:

  • Upload vacancies and schedule interviews.
  • Support graduate recruitment programmes and careers fairs.
  • Manage the HR mailbox and escalate complex queries.
  • Update HR timelines, checklists, and calendars.
  • Process invoices and track probation reviews.
  • Provide cover for team members and assist in formal meetings.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrable experience in an administrative role with a focus on data management and Excel skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a conscientious approach.
  • Strong MS Office skills.
  • Ability to manage competing demands and work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and handle confidential information appropriately.
  • Experience in an HR department and using an HR database is desirable.
  • CIPD qualification is desirable but not essential.
