Reporting to the HRBP, this HR Advisor role is based in Southampton with some travel expected. The salary is £38,000 – £48,000.

Key Responsibilities:      

  • Provide efficient and effective advice and guidance on a range of HR activities and casework to your client group. This will require travel to different sites across Southampton, Portsmouth & Bournemouth
  • Contribute to implementing HR strategies
  • Support senior leaders throughout company, providing them with tools to effectively manage and develop their staff
  • Work collaboratively with the rest of the managed services team to have a co-ordinated approach to managing HR issues
  • Contribute to formulation of policies, procedures and guidance to ensure they are fit for purpose
  • Keep abreast of HR best practice, legislative change and new developments to continuously improve knowledge and skills and ensure legal compliance and procedural consistency across all sites
  • Support Investigation Officers (IO) throughout the investigation process with informal and formal investigations through to disciplinary hearings as required, and advise on appropriate outcome
  • Contribute to the recruitment strategy and talent management and advising on the upskilling of existing staff and supporting schools including recruiting new apprentices
  • Provide guidance to schools around recruitment, pre-employment checks, contracts and staffing requirements
  • Liaise with Finance team and Payroll provider in terms of queries and deadlines, as well as sickness absence managment
  • Ensure a consistent approach to CPD/Performance Management (PM) throughout
  • Contribute to the staff well-being programme, develop and maintain initiatives to support staff and positive staff morale

  The Ideal Candidate will have the following:

  • Level 5 CIPD qualification or equivalent (or willingness to work towards this once employed)
  • Ability to solve problems using own judgement and investigatory skills
  • Ability to communicate a variety of information and ideas effectively to a range of audiences, through good written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work on own initiative and plan and organise own workload
  • Understanding of key safeguarding issues and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills and confidence to influence key stakeholders and advise effectively
  • A strong team player with good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a growing organisation
