We are on the lookout for our first Learning and Development Advisor to join our dynamic team. This role is all about making a significant impact, enhancing our workforce’s skills and knowledge, and fostering a culture of continuous professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
As our Learning and Development Advisor, you will be at the forefront of our learning initiatives. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Developing a strong presence and reputation across the business to promote a culture of continuous professional development.
  • Crafting and executing a Learning and Development strategy, identifying areas of need and providing creative, cost-effective solutions.
  • Collaborating with all areas of the business to determine learning requirements and offering appropriate solutions.
  • Implementing and maintaining a management development program, utilizing available resources and grants/funding.
  • Leading the implementation of the appraisal process, including training, ongoing development, and monitoring.
  • Identifying and implementing succession planning strategies.
  • Engaging in career development conversations across the business.
  • Creating and implementing a system for Career Ladders, including appropriate documentation and guidance.
  • Identifying and assessing CITB grant and funding opportunities, including the administration of claims.
  • Serving as the central point of contact for all Learning & Development inquiries.
  • Managing the booking and administration of ongoing statutory training requirements.
  • Utilizing innovative ideas to drive cost-effectiveness.
  • Providing coaching and support to line managers.
  • Delivering internal training modules as needed.
  • Assisting in the monitoring, evaluation, and reporting of KPIs.
  • Supporting the development of the Apprenticeship and Graduate program, including the creation and maintenance of a mentoring scheme.
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting to the Senior Leadership Team as required.
  • Collaborating with the HR Team on creating appropriate performance development plans when needed.
  • Maintaining employee personnel files and other relevant documentation.

Skills and Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Previous experience and a genuine passion for Learning & Development, ideally in a construction environment.
  • Proven experience in identifying training needs and creating training programs.
  • Experience in sourcing and assessing appropriate training providers.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across the business.
  • Self-motivated with a good initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective decision-making skills using appropriate data analysis.
  • A solid understanding of HR legislation in a learning environment.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy levels.
  • The ability to identify and drive continuous improvement in the Learning & Development process.
  • Understanding of GDPR and its impact on the Learning & Development process.
