The main objective of the Recruitment Advisor is to work with the Recruitment Manager to deliver a high level of recruitment services and advice to the business, ensuring candidates have a positive recruitment experience and displaying our values in all activities. 

This role can be based in Peterborough, Cambridge or Leeds – or further afield – but willing to go to Peterborough on a regular basis and comes with a salary of £35-40,000.
 
As Recruitment Advisor, your main tasks will be:
 
Recruitment:

  • Responsible for the recruitment process across our divisions including commercial, planning and development, rural and residential
  • Advise hiring managers on the recruitment process to ensure best practice
  • Attend divisional and ad-hoc team meetings to update and advise on recruitment, providing data and statistics as and when requested
  • Work towards the recruitment and 2025 people strategy’s KPIs
  • Work with the Recruitment Advisor on ad-hoc recruitment campaigns
  • Respond to speculative career/job opportunity enquiries, tracking and liaising with the recruitment manager to support the development of talent pipelines
  • Use the LinkedIn Recruiter tool to maximise direct sourcing and educate hiring managers by utilising their LinkedIn networks to attract talent
  • Ensure requests to recruit are processed correctly and approvals are in place before interviews conducted
  • Liaise with candidates and line managers on a regular basis, ensuring timely communication
  • Coordinate interview arrangements & where appropriate support interviews in relevant offices across the UK.
  • Advise the candidates and the business in the absence of the Recruitment Manager
  • Deal with recruitment agencies advising on branding, market presence as well as the firm’s EDI strategy to ensure that the right candidates are targeted and fully briefed
  • Managing and negotiating recruitment agency Ts& Cs, invoices etc.

 Early careers and graduate recruitment:

  • Assist in managing the graduate recruitment process and strategy with support from the team, utilising relevant attraction methods coordinating responses and tracking graduate recruitment in a timely and effective manner
  • Attend and conduct skills presentations with universities where possible to develop relationships further and generate more on-campus awareness of graduate opportunities
  • Support with updates of graduate marketing materials
  • Assist with the internship recruitment process – reviewing applications, interviews etc
  • Organise, facilitate and attend assessment centres, across the UK
  • Organise and attend careers fairs and events across universities (and schools) 

Strategy:

  • Support the firm’s EDI network and strategy by attending relevant meetings and assisting the Recruitment Manager with EDI reports and initiatives
  • Advise and implement recruitment strategies with line managers including platforms to advertise with, drafting adverts and conducting campaigns through LinkedIn for attraction
  • Liaise with marketing and advise on promotional campaigns including Ceros pages, internal marketing etc
  • Review careers page with Recruitment Manager and regularly update content to generate more awareness and profile employer brand
  • Support the Recruitment Manager with generating and implementing new initiatives for increasing the firm’s employer brand
  • Optimise social media and promote/support the business with their usage of social media
  • Regularly review recruitment policies including Employee Referral with the Recruitment Manager
  • Assist with tracking recruitment expenditure and budget in relation to headcounts and Recruitment activity advising the recruitment manager on ways to reduce costs 

Administration:

  • System administration of candidate management database (e.g. Hireserve), support with new system integration and ongoing enhancements.
  • Work closely with the Recruitment Manager, wider HR team, payroll and IT to ensure all new starter information is fully captured
  • Produce monthly recruitment reports for the management board on divisional recruitment activity
  • Manage upkeep of job description library to ensure they are regularly reviewed, updated on the Loop and agreed with the business.
  • Support Recruitment Administrator with managing the recruitment inbox and coordinating responses
  • Cover for Recruitment Manager/Advisor in their absence

Person specification
  
Essential skills, knowledge and experience and qualifications:  

  • Strong experience of working in a recruitment/resourcing environment ideally in a professional service environment
  • Experience in managing recruitment campaigns and headhunting candidates to fill senior-level roles
  • Ideally CIPD qualified or working towards
  • High levels of competence with MS office
  • Strong communication skills
  • Experience in candidate management/systems
  • Knowledge of legislation affecting recruitment
  • Full driving licence
