A leading financial services business undergoing an exciting transformation programme is recruiting a Talent Acquisition Specialist to support with an exciting growth programme. The business is fast moving, operates in a dynamic space and this role will deliver an effective, proactive end to end resourcing service to various business areas (including Operations, Support Functions and IT/Engineering), adding value to the hiring process for both current and anticipated future hiring needs.

As Talent Acquisition Specialist your key responsibilities will be:

Requirements – support Hiring Managers with the identification and definition of hiring requirements, advising and coaching by using expertise and market insight to anticipate potential challenges from the outset,

Approval – guide Hiring Managers through the Authorisation to Hire process, ensuring compliance with the process and the necessary approval is gained prior to commencing resourcing activity,

 Collaboration – working in conjunction with the wider HR team, sharing knowledge and best practice, ensuring information is shared and flagged appropriately in a timely fashion, using knowledge and insight to add value to the service provision,

Attraction/sourcing – using expertise to develop suitable attraction/sourcing methodologies (situational on requirements), using a variety of tools (including job boards, CV mining, social media, market mapping, headhunting and other contemporary sourcing channels) to proactively source suitable and relevant candidates, constantly striving to acquire the highest calibre of talent possible and developing talent pools in anticipation of future requirements,

Screening/qualification – working with Hiring Managers to provide a value-add screening/qualification service for Hiring Managers to assess initial suitability of candidates by reviewing applications (for volume and specialist roles), conducting qualification/screening calls, effectively questioning candidates and developing appropriate shortlists to present to Hiring Managers,

Selection – advise and develop appropriate selection strategies with Hiring Managers to ensure quality hiring decisions are made and a fair and consistent approach is adopted. Supporting Hiring Managers to develop interview questions and testing/assessments appropriate for the role, supporting with face to face interviews where possible to add value to hiring decisions,

Offer – own the offer process (delivery and negotiation), ensuring alignment to approved budget and compliance with process (including sighting appropriate right to work documentation prior to offers being made). Accurately providing the HR & Talent Acquisition Coordinator with the required information to generate offer paperwork and contracts of employment, and trigger the pre-employment screening process,

Candidate experience – ensuring a positive and timely candidate experience is delivered throughout all stages of the resourcing process, working with the Talent Acquisition Manager to develop and enhance the candidate experience as part of the wider Talent Acquisition strategy,

Tracking/reporting – accurately and effectively track recruitment requirements and campaigns, including progress reporting to Hiring Managers, the Talent Acquisition Manager and the HR function. Report on key metrics relating to recruitment campaigns (including time to hire, cost savings),

Escalation – identify the need to escalate any issues to the Talent Acquisition Manager in a timely fashion, to ensure the credibility of the Talent Acquisition offering is maintained at all times,

Projects – support the Talent Acquisition Manager with a variety of projects as required (for example, the development and review of the agency PSL, development of the attraction strategy, resource/manpower planning, early careers/future talent, EVP development and employer branding activity)),

Knowledge/expertise – proactively own knowledge/expertise within the Talent Acquisition arena, using a variety of methods to keep up to date with industry trends (i.e. networking, podcasts, industry publications, events). Keeping up to date of market intelligence to inform decision making and advising/coaching Hiring Managers,

Brand ambassador – leading by example and promoting the company brand (both internally and externally), enhancing the company’s ability to attract and retain top tier talent and become an employer of choice. Representing the company at employment related events (for example careers fairs)

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven experience in full-cycle resourcing, from either an agency or in-house recruitment setting,
  • Demonstrable experience in using a variety of tools/channels to directly source candidates, reducing the reliance on agency usage (including LinkedIn Recruiter, StackOverflow),
  • Experience in managing end to end recruitment campaigns at various levels of complexity (from entry-level to specialist, mid to senior-level roles), including candidate pre-screening and qualification of skills, experience and motivations,
  • Ability to effectively prioritise workload in line with business demands, challenging back to the business where appropriate to manage expectations,
  • Experienced in the use of Applicant Tracking Systems,
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to adapt style based on audience
  • Experience in both volume and specialist hiring across a variety of industries/sectors (including IT/Engineering)
