My client is seeking an experienced HR professional to join our UK-based HR team as an HR Shared Services Team Lead. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role is pivotal in delivering high-quality HR services to both the UK and Internationally.

As an HR Shared Services Team Lead, you will manage a team of four, providing both transactional support and employee relations advisory services. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the effective delivery of the full HR employee lifecycle, driving compliance with regulations and internal policies, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the HR Shared Services team, ensuring consistency, compliance, and efficiency in all HR-related activities.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 4 direct reports, supporting their growth and managing their workload.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including HR Generalist Managers and Business Line Managers, to understand their needs and allocate shared service resources accordingly.
  • Drive continuous improvement through systems and process enhancements, supporting the team in managing ongoing system projects.
  • Manage the HR Shared Service against agreed service levels, providing regular reports and assessments of performance.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with GDPR requirements, overseeing the accurate and secure management of HR databases.
  • Collaborate with Audit to maintain high standards of safety and environmental policies within the Shared Service.
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex tasks and resource allocation within the team.

Skills, Knowledge, and Expertise:

  • CIPD qualified with a solid level of generalist HR experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment legislation, GDPR, and health and safety regulations.
  • Proven experience in leading teams and driving operational efficiency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts.
  • Ability to influence without positional power and collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experienced in the design and delivery of process and system enhancements.
  • Focused on coaching and developing others, with a natural ability to mentor and support team members.
