On Thursday 16 November, we hosted a Breakfast Forum in Bournemouth. We were thrilled to welcome our guest speaker Jo Boxer, Culture and Engagement Consultant at Dragonfish Consulting. Jo delivered engaging and thought provoking content that sparked many discussions among the audience. It’s always very enjoyable getting local HR professionals together to discuss hot topics in HR – and the feedback we have received so far has been very positive! This is actually our second Breakfast Forum with dragonfish, back by popular demand, as our first event was incredibly popular with our HR audience and our spaces filled up in record time.
Key Takeaways
These days – culture goes beyond your four walls. If your culture stinks, your customers will know about it. If your people aren’t happy, your customers will feel it, and if your people aren’t effective, your customers will tell you about it.
During the Breakfast Forum, Jo shared some of the research Dragonfish has carried out, explained how to build a solid culture plan, explored the links between culture and performance and encouraged plenty of questions and discussions within the room throughout the morning, including: how does culture drive performance?
Some interesting facts and figures….
92% of 100 FTSE 350 Board Directors say that investing in culture has improved their financial performance!
84% of senior leaders globally say disengaged employees are one of the three biggest threats facing their business…
… and yet only 12% report regular activity to address employee engagement in their business!
So what does it take to crack the culture code? Job satisfaction, emotional commitment, customer and brand alignment. If you have mastered each of these 4 things in your business, you’ll be well on your way to cracking the culture code to transform business performance.

We ask that those who cancel last minute make a donation to Macmillan, and everybody has been happy to do so. So far, this has raised a further £150.
