Learning & Development (L&D) professionals have had it tough over the past 12-18 months, with many roles being made redundant and even entire teams and functions being cut to save costs in a turbulent market.

As a specialist HR recruiter, I have however seen an upward trend in the number of L&D roles in the last 3 months suggesting that companies are investing in their existing Talent to drive growth and revenue.

Companies are recognising that effective training programs directly influence performance, retention, and innovation. Therefore, competitive compensation for L&D professionals is not just a perk but a must.

There has been a rise in the demand for Leadership Development skills and experience as well as E-Learning Design capabilities as we move more into a blended learning approach.

Below is our Salary Survey information for L&D professionals across London & the South.

L&D professionals should seek roles that offer growth, innovation, and alignment with their values. For employers, investing in competitive salaries and robust development opportunities will attract the best Talent, ensuring they remain at the forefront of industry advancements.

In conclusion, hiring great L&D professionals is key for Retention, Attraction and being a stand-out Employer and business amongst your competitors. Finding the right cultural fit as well capabilities is essential, having supported a number if companies this year in their search & selection process.
